2.5 Kw Wave Energy Converter

G&J Wave Energy has completed a preliminary design for a  2.5 Kw power conversion apparatus design based on the 2.5 Watt prototype model design. The 2.5 Kw design is targeted for use by the aquaculture and offshore monitoring sectors of the Blue Economy to reduce fossil fuel use.  The 2.5 Kw design uses low pressure hydraulics to operate the tensioner, which consists of two hydraulic cylinders and a set of cable pulleys.  As opposed to the 2.5 Watt model, the tensioner cylinders are mounted vertically and the other components in the power takeoff (PTO) system are located on the floor of the power takeoff assembly casing for stability reasons.  A list of major power takeoff components  are found on the 2.5 Kw Design page
